I replaced a 3 year old Samsung (2k $ tv) in hopes this would hold up like our other Bravia. No such luck. This thing is laggy moving through menus. Using over 4 times as much data as our Samsung/Sony televisions somehow and even with all eco settings off, if it’s paused 5 minutes, it shuts the tv off automatically. Will go through fantastic experience I’m sure of returning it.

I bought on prime day, with a free delivery unpack service. However, not only the delivery experience is really awful, but the product has two unbearable issue which I am not sure if this is only I had a bad one or all this model has the same problem.First let’s talk about the delivery experience:1, the delivery guy doesnt wear shoe cover to enter my home, cause lots of dirt on my floor.2, when they try to install the leg of the tv, they put the tv face down on the tv package which has tons of dirt on it so the screen was covered by dust and dirt after they flip it back. Also when they move the tv they hold it with hand and finger on the screen makes finger print on it and hard to remove.3, after they put it on the shelf, they main guy ask me to sign so they can leave, I said I have to check if there’s any flaw so I can return it right now to save any trouble, this is written on the explaination on the service page but the guy doesn’t know and keep sayingtheir job is only assemble.Lastly I can’t argue with them because the main guy doesn’t speak English at all and the one who speaks a little English can’t explain both sides. so I just signed it then I’ll Check it by myself.I couldn’t believe Amazon has such a bad delivering into home service, this usually cost 30$ but it’s prime day so it’s free this time, but I’ll never order this service for sure based on this experienceOk so after they left, I started to set up the tv with google account, I’m having another two Sony tvs in my old house so I know all the drill to avoid those ads. Here’s the problem, this tv is extremely laggy on the remote control, whenever I press directions, it always has to wait approximately 0.5-1 sec to response, this seems like the cpu or memory couldn’t handle the workload, but I’m at the setting up stage, it doesn’t make any sense since it’s a 2300$ new version Sony tv.Another thing is the brightness problem, I know it’s my first OLED tv, I know the blackness is great, but I never heard of the brightness should be a problem, since I can’t even watch clear unless I put it on vivid picture mode which it’s too sharp, any other modes are not bright at all even it’s on max brightness. So I’m trying to replace this to see if the one I got is a flaw one or all a80L are laggy and dark. It’s my first time writing a review during my 10+year prime, and I’ll update when I get the replacement

So my wife surprised me with this television for my office/man-cave, and I have to say she did an outstanding job! Whether I am watching the news or sports or playing a game on my playstation this thing looks and sounds amazing!I had a smaller, 32″ TV that just wasn’t cutting it. My eyesight sin’t what it used to be, and let’s face it gaming nowadays requires a nicer tv setup for the full experience. My wife went searching and found this TV, and since it was the same brand as my typical gaming station she went for it. The picture quality is perfect in my office, with clean graphics, a great refresh rate and text that stands out on screen where I need it, and the audio quality straight from the box has been fantastic, too! The screen looks beautiful in every lighting setup I’ve had it in, and has a wonderful dynamic range of darks to lights so that environment changes on screen look beautiful.Gaming isn’t the only thing that really shines on here. The smart aspects of the TV are super responsive and quick to load, and 4K content begins playing almost immediately, even over a wireless connection. The apps were easily setup with the Google support wizard and made it so that I only needed about 20 minutes to get several apps up and running and have the TV set and ready. This is a truly great television, and I look forward to testing its limits with the graphics and such on systems to come!
What I Think –
I’ve owned a Sony TV for years, and I found it to be of high quality and reliable. This TV is my first Sony OLED TV, and I’m very impressed wit its picture quality and performance so far. Here are some pros and cons:Pros: – Stylish and premium design. It really can accentuate any living space – Cognitive XR processor does a great job of upscaling low resolution content. I’m able to see more fine details and less or none of the unwanted artifacts with this TV compared to my older one. – Excellent and impressive SDR and HDR images with support for formats in HDR, HLD, and Dolby Vision. The colors and contrast, especially the pure black, are amazing. I love watching Planet Earth in 4K resolution with this TV. It really brings life-like pictures to the screen. Such a mesmerizing experience. – Better than expected sound. With Acoustic Surface Auto+ and Dolby Atmos, the sound is immersive and does feel like it comes directly out of the screen. – Three-way position stand is a thoughtful design to accommodate narrow or wide surfaces. Furthermore, I appreciate the fact that I can raise the TV up to clear the sound bar.Cons: – 4 HDMI inputs, but only 2 is HDMI 2.1 that can support 4K/120Hz, VRR (Variable Refresh Rate), and ALLM (Auto Low Latency Mode) – No support for HDR10+Overall, I think this is a fantastic mid-range OLED TV that delivers amazing pictures. With Google TV OS, it’s very responsive and intuitive to navigate, and the layout can be customized to one’s preference. I would highly recommend this TV to anyone’s currently in the market.

Very excited to open the box only to find a cracked screen. Won’t buy another tv on lineNot worth the potential savings to put up with the hassle of a return
